The Whole Holiday Season Abridged - January 03, 2004

well, i hope everyone out there had a very merry christmas and a fantastic new year's eve. since my birthday, i've been pretty busy. the day after, there was a rehearsal, then i went to see this guy, justin klump, perform. he's a friend of christen's and he's one of those guitarist/singer/songwriter types. could be the next mraz or mayer...who knows. i got his cd, but haven't listened to it much because that whole week was the week of music. i also went to everyday music later that night and bought three new cds: the new death cab - transatlanticism, the postal service - give up(i love it...it dominates the cd rotation), and jeff buckley - grace.

wednesday, the first part of the day i was very very tense because that was christmas eve and the day the play was performed!! *dun dun dun!!* we were running so very late because we had to pack up everything we needed for the play, get everyone ready and out, and then brave through I-5 traffic. we got there 2 hours later than i'd wanted to, but by the time we got there, i'd relaxed a lot.

the whole production was highly flawed, but tons of fun. the best part was the end, where everyone was dancing around. clinton and his bro came to see it, which was fun. they were the only guests there really.

after the play/party, and after i went home and changed, i went caroling with clinton, christen, and clinton's mom. that always gets me in the christmas spirit. we also wound up getting fed by people. we were offered chocolates, candy canes, fudge, cookies, and peppermint tea. a lot of people really appreciated it, since almost no one goes caroling anymore.

then thursday, of course, was christmas, and while we didn't exchange presents this year, i had a good time. we had prophetess and apostle over, as well as their son, steven, and gloria. issac also came by earlier with his roomies, but he didn't stick around for dinner. it was actually not very eventful, looking back. ah well.

on friday, i went to the pied cow with clinton to meet up with a guy he's been interested in named robbie and robbie's best friend holly. overall, that was pretty cool, except that i had to pee about 4 times while we were there. i am she of the little bladder.

saturday, i went out to the forest grove schmizza(i've missed it so since karaoke went kaput) to see moose and his band, hoodwink, perform. it was like, the indie music week. that was pretty cool stuff, then we went to amber's, and played games and watched "pirates of the caribbean."

the next week was a lot more laid back...plus i was sick...and am now just recovering. sorry to anyone i may have passed it to on new years!

on new year's eve, i started my day shopping with clinton and sam. the purpose of our mini shop-a-thon was sort of to give sam a style makeover. kinda an "apparel major eye for the queer guy." we meant to hit up about 5 or so stores, but we wound up spending hours in buffalo exchange. we only got to about 3 stores total, if you count target. at the end, at least sam's hair looked different.

new year's over at liz's was pretty fun. good food, mafia, music, card games, charades, champagne...good times. i love mao, btw. everyone needs to play it more, in my opinion! the rules we had that night were cracked me up. "diamonds are a girl's best friend, mama!"

well, anyway, this is all just a recap. i dunno if i'm losing interest in this ol' diary or what. i think it's just that things on my mind are not always public diary kind of things. either that, or there's really just nothing interesting going on here. but whenever there is, i'll be around the "add entry" box.

(in the title of this entry, i almost typed "abridgete")
